Find out more about these new additions below.

Pro III – Single Hand Series

Moderate Action | Freshwater | Saltwater

The Pro III was designed to provide new and intermediate anglers a tool with a wider sweet spot to allow casters to better feel the rod load, understand when it isn’t properly loaded and refine the steps so as to properly place a fly in front of a fish.  It is evolved from the previous models to offer anglers of all skill levels a casting improvement tool at an incredible value.

With over 20 years of building rods in this category, the new Pro III has a confirmed lineage of success and happy anglers. We have modernized it and styled in a way to fit the modern angling scene, while keeping the performance and efficiency true to its past. The Pro III series rods are a moderate action taper, which is both easy to load and cast, while being powerful enough to confidently land fish.

With 12 models available, from a small water three-weight to a popular, big fish style 10-weight.  Pro III rods feature premium cork grip handles, (half and full-wells) with EVA foam accents and anodized aluminum reel seats, with both full and carbon fiber inserts. Rods are topped with appropriately sized SiC style stripping guides and double-foot, anodized snake guides.

The new Pro lll series is offered in twelve models from a small water three-weight to a popular, big fish style 10-weight.

All Pro III rods are packaged in a labeled rod sock and rod tube.

NXT Black Label Rod – New Additions Coming This Fall

Moderate Action | Freshwater | Saltwater

The NXT Black Label series is designed to make fly fishing simple and affordable – TFO’s mission. And because TFO’s NXT series kits are the gold standard for fly fishing schools and educational programs across the United States, we consider it the most important product we make. Whether as a great gift for the aspiring fly angler or a superb back-up for the fisherman who has everything, the NXT Black Label quite simply offers the highest performance to price ratio of any fly fishing outfit available and it’s covered by TFO’s full lifetime warranty.

The foundation of the NXT Black Label is a moderate action blank which offers plenty of forgiveness for delicate presentations and cushioning light leaders but loads easily for longer casts into the wind.

New for 2023, are two additions to the NXT family: an 8’6” 4-weight and a 9-foot, 6-weight. Be on the lookout for these new additions this fall.

New for 2023, are additions to the family of an 8’6” 4-weight and a 9-foot, 6-weight to the NXT Black Label fly rod series.

The rods are a handsome, matte black with half wells grips (4, 5 and 6-weight) and a full-wells (8-weight) made from reconstituted cork for extreme durability. Aluminum oxide stripping guides, chromium-impregnated stainless-steel snake guides and an anodized aluminum up- locking reel seat make the NXT Black Label series great for chasing fish in fresh or saltwater.

All NXT Black Label rods come with a rod sock.

Bluewater SG – Updated Reel Seat & Grip

Designed by Jake Jordan specifically for the demands of offshore fly fishing, these rods combine the ability to quickly deliver large flies accurately and to then sustain the significant lifting force necessary to fight and land large pelagic species.

The foundation of the Bluewater SG Series is a hybrid blank engineered with a carbon fiber upper section and a proprietary S-Glass weave in the lower section of the rod. The carbon fiber upper section underpins the efficient casting action and tip recovery necessary for fast, on-target casts; and after hookup, the S-Glass lower section delivers superb strength and a shortened lever capable of dead lifting over 10 pounds at a 90-degree fighting angle. The Bluewater series helped Jake land over 10,000 billfish on fly and, in the process, it has become the most widely used blue water fly rod in the world.

For 2023, we have updated the reel seat to a fully anodized aluminum seat, and extended the handle on the Light-Duty, (LD) model.

We’ve kept the same basic and proven actions with carbon fiber tips for ease of casting that blends into S Glass butts for powerful lifting. A brilliant addition is our use of Axiom II single filament S Glass applications within the walls of the blank – a pattern that controls and smooths ovaling. Actions are smoother and power range is greater. We know you will appreciate the difference.

The Baby rod is finished out with composite cork split grips, traditional snake and stripper guides and is 9-foot, four-piece. The 9-foot Light Duty, 8 ½’ four-piece Mid Duty and Heavy Duty rods are finished with a single lengthened composite cork fore-grip that allows one to adjust top hand placement when fights can take an hour or more. Further, they feature full aluminum oxide insert double-foot guides along the blank for increased durability and strength and an aluminum oxide tip top.

Cordura cases are included with the family as well. Find out more about the Bluewater SG series here.

Be on the lookout for all these new 2022/2023 additions at your local TFO dealer later this month!
