All TFO products purchased from an authorized dealer have a no-fault lifetime warranty for the life of the registered owner. This warranty is exclusively between TFO and the registered owner of the product.

ROD REPAIRS

We know how awful it is to break your favorite fishing rod (we’ve been there). The TFO no-fault lifetime warranty is intended to provide our anglers complete confidence that if a TFO product is broken for any reason, there’s a solution to get them back on the water quickly and without hassles.

Every TFO fishing rod is built in our exclusive facility – never in someone else’s factory and never with somebody else’s rods – which assures us (and our anglers) extreme consistency and reliability.  And because we understand the quality TFO anglers demand, we take the extra step of test-loading 100% of our fishing rods before they’re ever shipped. Doing so allows us to confidently provide the best warranty in the industry.  Fishing rods do get broken, but we work hard to ensure that it’s not due to workmanship or manufacturing issues.

We will candidly answer questions about why a fishing rod broke and we’ll tell you if we don’t know. It may also be helpful to refer to Tom Kirkman’s article, Rod Failure (RodMaker Magazine). It’s usually not difficult to determine why a fishing rod unfortunately broke and this is a fantastic analysis discussing the differences between damaged and defective rod failures.

TFO will always repair or replace (at no cost to the customer) any product damaged due to faulty workmanship or manufacturing defects. TFO’s no-fault lifetime warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidents, abuse or broken guides; however, for a fee TFO does provide thorough and timely product repairs.

Fly Rods

Fly Rods: Warranty Policy & Procedures

First, we ask that you register your fly rod if you have not done so.

To use your No-Fault Warranty in the U.S., simply send the entire rod to our address in Dallas, TX. Yes, you must send in your entire rod as we do not sell individual sections. Once it arrives, we will re-fit a new section to your rod and inspect the remainder for any additional damage or wear.

We recommend using a carrier that provides tracking information in case of a problem. Make sure to include a note with your return shipping/contact information and a check  for $35 per rod (walk-ins are $25). PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH. Failure to include the proper return shipping information may result in additional fees. Your repaired rod will be shipped back to you within a few days of receipt. Blanks sections (as appropriate) will be replaced and returned with related hardware and finishings from broken sections. This warranty is limited to the blank on custom TFO rods and does not cover flagrant abuse of the product. International warranties have different requirements. Please contact us for more details.

* It is not advised to send personal rod tubes, rod/reel carriers or any other personal items with your rod. We are not liable for the safe return of those items. Please ship your rods in a standard cardboard tube/triangular box availible from any shipping location.

** Our preferred incoming carriers are UPS and FedEx and we strongly recommend that all warranty repairs are shipped with a “signature required” delivery option. If UPS and FedEx are not available and you must ship with USPS, we suggest that you use their Priority Express shipping service.

NOTE: WE STRONGLY DISCOURAGE THE USE OF USPS FOR WARRANTY RETURNS AS A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF THESE SHIPMENTS ARE LOST IN TRANSIT AND NEVER RECEIVED.

Conventional Rods

Conventional Rods: Warranty Policies & Procedures

If your rod fails for any reason, Temple Fork Outfitters will repair or replace your rod under warranty.  The fees for Conventional repairs and/or replacement are listed in the chart below (effective October 1, 2018).

All items above require additional shipping fees.
See below for further instructions and details.

Do not include payment with your rod. We can combine shipping for multiple rods being repaired at once. We will contact you with a repair total once your replacement rod(s) is ready to ship. Dealers are not authorized to offer replacements under this warranty. If you have a rod fail for any reason, please return it to our address in Dallas, TX.

What should you send us?

One-piece Rods

In the event of a broken or damaged 1-piece rod blank, it is not necessary to send us your entire rod. Instead, send us the name and logoed portion of the rod, as well as correct and current contact information (physical address, email and phone number). Upon receipt, we will contact you with the return charges, which are generally around $30 on a 7ft rod (price varies by destination). Once we receive payment, we will send out your new rod.

Multiple-piece Rods

For warranty service on multiple-piece rods, the entire rod must be shipped to us for repair. We will refit new sections to the remaining portion of your rod and address any additional damage that we find.

NOTE REGARDING ALL RODS: If you feel that your rod failed due to a problem with materials or workmanship, please contact us before returning it for warranty repair. In most cases of a presumed defect, there is typically a reasonable explanation. To aide in determining whether a defect truly exists, we have specialists readily available to discuss the circumstances surrounding the failure of your rod.  In cases of a true defect, we will require that the entire rod be returned to us for a thorough evaluation.  If you have questions, we encourage you to call us a call at 1(800)-638-9052.

* It is not advised to send personal rod tubes, rod/reel carriers or any other personal items with your rod. We are not liable for the safe return of those items. Please ship your rods in a standard cardboard tube/triangular box availible from any shipping location.
