Fishing The Seasonal Transition – It’s Swimbait Time

Using swimbaits in late summer and early fall can be highly effective, as bass and other predatory fish are looking to bulk up before the colder months. During this time, swimbaits mimic the abundant baitfish, making them an attractive target for aggressive fish.

To effectively fish with swimbaits, you’ll need a 7 to 8-foot rod with medium (depending on the bait size), medium-heavy to heavy power, and moderate-fast to fast action. This type of setup provides the strength for long casts, the backbone to handle large fish, and enough sensitivity to detect subtle bites.

Centra Bass rods are the epitome of quality, featuring Toray high-modulus carbon fiber blanks, Fuji’s K-frame guide system with aconite inserts, feel-thru reel seats, and custom cork with burl grips. They offer excellent feel, sensitivity, and durability.
